Miami continues to build its 2027 class locally and has added a talented WR/TE, DeMarcus DeRoche, from Cardinal Gibbons High School. The four-star made his announcement via social media Tuesday evening. He chose the Hurricanes over Florida State, Florida, NC State, Auburn, Louisville, and Illinois.

DeRoche was offered on June 18th, and the relationship has developed ever since. The six-foot-five 210-pound hybrid receiver has an 83.5 wingspan and has elite athletic ability.

“My relationship with the coaches got a lot better,” DeRoche said. “I learned a lot on both sides of the ball.”

The transfer from Boyd Anderson recorded seven sacks on defense and scored five touchdowns offensively.

The versatile athlete also plays basketball at a high level, averaging nearly ten points, seven rebounds & 1.5 blocks as a two-year varsity player.

Elite frame to go with high level athleticism that can play either side of the ball in college, whose frame, character, and wanting to stay home made him a must-get in 2027.

DeRoche’s commitment makes the fifth local talent to commit to Miami’s 2027 class. He joins four-stars Kenton Dopson, Ah’Mari Stevens, Jaylyn Jones, and Zaquan Linton.
