Quarterbacks to Watch in '25

15. Dean Potts, Riverside, senior. Tough as nails, Potts was instrumental in Riverside earning its first-ever playoff win last fall. He has thrown for over 1,000 yards and rushed for 685 yards in his career with the Rams.

14. Ryan Stoehr, St. Augustine, senior. Up against one of the toughest schedules in the region, Stoehr shined in his first season under center. He completed 60 percent of his throws for 726 yards and nine touchdowns.

13. Cole Anderson, Shawnee, sophomore. A punishing runner, Anderson racked up 906 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground, including 210 in a game against Rancocas Valley. He also had a three-TD passing game versus Hammonton.

12. Teriq Moore, Overbrook, senior. A pure athlete with video-game moves, Moore excelled at QB last season, throwing for over 1,000 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions to go along with 800 yards and nine scores on the ground.

11. Kristopher Foster, Williamstown, junior. After a pair of 1,000-yard seasons at Glassboro, Foster has transferred across the county to Monroe Township. Foster threw for 27 touchdowns while splitting time at QB. He was competing for the starting spot at his new school during preseason.

10. Jack O’Connell, Glassboro, senior. In his first season with the Bulldogs, O’Connell produced a TD pass in each of his 10 games played following his transfer. He finished with 18 touchdown throws, including multi-TD passes in his final five games.

9. Ahmad Jones, Camden, senior. After throwing for over 3,500 yards and 33 touchdowns in three seasons at Pleasantville, Jones is headed to The High to complete his scholastic career.

8. Vinny Sacca, Delran, senior. Sacca is coming off his first 1,000-yard season, helping lead the Bears to a 9-2 record last fall. He threw for 16 touchdowns, including seven multi-TD games. Sacca also rushed for 715 yar ds and 15 scores.

7. Cole Aquino, Washington Township, senior. As the Minutemen have marched into the upper echelon of teams in South Jersey, Aquino has played a pivotal role. He has thrown for close to 3,000 yards over the last two seasons, helping the team accumulate 19 wins over the stretch. Aquino has 25 career touchdown passes, including eight in the postseason.

6. Ty Costabile, Holy Spirit, senior. A model of consistency, Costabile has delivered consecutive 1,500-plus passing-yard seasons with a combined 37 touchdowns.

5. Robert O’Connor, Millville, junior. Taking the keys to an electric offense, O’Connor guided the Thunderbolts to another successful season. In his first season in orange and blue, he threw for over 2,300 yards with 26 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He threw for 302 yards in a win over Mainland.

4. Anthony Tirico, Seneca, junior. Tirico hasn’t missed a beat during his first two campaigns, throwing for over 3,600 yards and 31 touchdowns in 23 career games. He threw for a career-best 1,853 yards last season.

3. John Franchini, Mainland, senior. As the Mustangs continued to pile up the wins (34 over the last three years), Franchini has played a major role during the run thanks to his right arm and leadership. He’s thrown for 3,994 yards with 52 touchdowns in his first three seasons, including 2,221 yards and 21 TDs last fall. He is 34-6 in his 40 career starts.

2. Sayvien Adams, Rancocas Valley, senior. The definition of a premier dual-threat quarterback, Adams threw for 2,147 yards and rushed for 1,034 more to become the third QB in South Jersey history to reach those marks, joining Cedar Creek’s Damon Mitchell (2012) and Bill Belton (2009 and 2010), according to local historian Chuck Langerman.

1. Jalen Parker, Winslow, junior. One of the premier passers in the Garden State, Parker established a program record 2,917 passing yards and helped lead the Eagles to the state Group 4 title. Parker has thrown for 4,427 yards and 64 touchdowns in just 21 career games. Parker was one of the finalists for South Jersey Player of the Year honors last fall.

Others to watch: Kevin Boulden, Gloucester; Dan Collum, Pitman; Brady Cobb, West Deptford; Trey Lee, Bordentown; Van Lefakis, Haddonfield; Kellen Pierce, Lenape.
