Middlesbrough have confirmed the signing of Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
The 18-year-old joins the Championship club just weeks after completing a reported £12.5m move from Rosenborg to the Premier League side.
Nypan, widely regarded as one of Europe’s top young talents, signed a five-year deal with City earlier this summer and moves to the Riverside on a move that does not include a purchase option.
A regular in Norway's youth national teams, Nypan made 70 appearances and scored 14 goals for Rosenborg before his move to England.
His arrival on Teesside marks Middlesbrough’s fifth addition of the summer transfer window, following the signings of Alfie Jones, Callum Brittain, Abdoulaye Kante and Sontje Hansen.
Nypan was introduced to supporters during Boro’s annual open training session at the Riverside Stadium on Monday, where he signed autographs and met fans for the first time.
