Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter is getting set to enter his first season in the NFL, with hopes of being a major contributor to a team that went just 4-13 last year.

Unfortunately, on Friday, the wide receiver/cornerback was held out of practice. According to Mia O'Brien of ESPN Radio, head coach Liam Coen confirmed it was a precautionary measure due to the Heisman Trophy winner sustaining an upper-body injury

Hunter's Preseason Availability in Question

The Jaguars are set to play in their second of three preseason games on Sunday on the road against the New Orleans Saints. After sitting out, though, Hunter's availability becomes a big question.

When asked by reporters, Coen was noncommittal on whether the rookie will be suiting up against the Saints, saying, "We'll figure that out. We don't know yet."

Considering this is Hunter's rookie season, these exhibition matchups are a valuable time in his development with the opportunity to see real NFL action. That's especially so with him wanting to continue to play both offense and defense.

Hunter Played Both Ways in Preseason Opener

Hunter made his Jaguars debut during the team's first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

Despite the Jags' 31-25 loss, the rookie was given valuable time on the field and a chance to play both wide receiver and cornerback, lining up for 10 snaps on offense and another eight on defense. In total, he hauled in two receptions for nine yards, while missing a tackle.

However, one of the biggest worries about Hunter playing both ways in the NFL is whether it's sustainable due to the stress it puts on the body. Now, before the regular season even starts, he's dealing with one of his first NFL injuries.
