Notre Dame has its leaders front and center
Even though Notre Dame Football still hasnβt announced who the starting quarterback will be for the week one matchup against the Miami Hurricanes β the captains were announced.
Notre Dame named five players as captains for the 2025 college football season:
LINEBACKER #34 Drayk Bowen
WIDE RECEIVER #2 Will Pauling
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN #41 Donovan Hinish
OFFENSIVE LINEMAN #74 Billy Schrauth
SAFETY #8 Adon Shuler
Just like the other Marcus Freeman years, five is the number for the bearers of the C.
Adon Shuler, Drayk Bowen, and Billy Schrauth felt like sure things as captains for a while now, but Donovan Hinish and Will Pauling are a bit of a surprise.
Hinish brings so much heart and hard work to the table though, so consider me a fool for overlooking those important aspect of leadership.
As far as Will Pauling is concerned⦠this is a great sign for Notre Dame football in 2025. Transfers have earned the C before, but at a position like wide receiver, it had to take a tremendous amount of work and leadership to gain that C on the chest.
Notre Dame is in great shape. Congratulations to all five for this great honor.
