It's August, which means the NBA recently dropped its entire 2025-26 regular season schedule. The Oklahoma City Thunder will soon start their championship reign. After a historic year, expect them to be the consensus favorite to bring home the Larry O'Brien trophy again.

Examining the Thunder's schedule, the NBA has pushed them to the forefront. They're tied with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks for most national television games at 34. That's probably the biggest takeaway from their 82-game slate.

Another thing most looked for on the schedule is the Thunder's longest homestand. They're known to have one of the biggest homecourt advantages in the league. That's why they looked unbeatable at home and pedestrian on the road in the playoffs.

The Thunder will have a five-game homestand from Mar. 27 to Apr. 5. That gives them 12 days to play at Paycom Center and sleep in their beds. That will be much-needed as it's fresh off the season's longest road trip of five games. Such is life in the NBA in March and April, when schedule-makers cram in the final batch of games before the playoffs.

The Thunder will start by hosting the Chicago Bulls on Friday, Mar. 27. They then face the New York Knicks on Sunday, Mar. 29, which will be on NBC. The next night, they play the Detroit Pistons on Monday, Mar. 30, which will be on Peacock.

A few days later, they square off against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, Apr. 2. That will be on Amazon Prime. And then finally, it'll be the Utah Jazz on Sunday, Apr. 5.

All in all, that's not the most brutal five-game homestand. It also won't be a walk in the park. Considering how late it is in the season, being at home for that long should boost the Thunder's record and seeding position. They've had back-to-back years of being the West's first seed. Let's see if that can happen again. Or if the NBA champions have reached a point where the regular season no longer matters to them.
