Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are set for an NFL preseason game against the Washington Commanders. Here's how Columbus viewers can watch.
The Cincinnati Bengals desperately want to improve their early-season play. Under coach Zac Taylor, the Bengals are 7-14-1 in the month of September.
Given that, the team has put a little extra emphasis on their three exhibition games. They fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in the opener 34-27 and have a game against the Washington Commanders on tap. It will air Aug. 18 on ESPN.
Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow has lobbied for more playing against the Commanders than he received Aug. 7. He played one quarter and completed nine of his 10 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
“I could have been better, I missed the first throw,” Burrow said. “I put all of the other ones where I wanted to put them.”
Cincinnati's defense will be looking to improve after giving up 23 first downs, 300 passing yards and 132 yards against an Eagles squad that mostly rested its starters.
After resolving a drawn-out contract dispute, Bengals first-round draft pick Shemar Stewart (No. 17 overall) was able to make his unofficial NFL debut. He had one tackle for loss.
