Man Utd’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal exposes Ruben Amorim’s weakest link.

Manchester United’s new season under Ruben Amorim started with plenty of promise, but it ended with the same old story — a goalkeeper mistake costing them points.
A 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on opening weekend has already raised alarm bells at Old Trafford, and calls for a new No.1 are growing louder.
Altay Bayindir was given the gloves in Andre Onana’s absence, but his failed attempt to clear Declan Rice’s corner gifted Riccardo Calafiori the winner.
The mistake overshadowed lively debuts for Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, and it left Amorim facing questions he surely hoped to avoid.
Gary Neville summed it up bluntly on Sky Sports: “There’s a glaring issue that Man Utd cannot ignore and it is the fact they need to find a goalkeeper. They have to. I’m unequivocal on that.”

Who can Man Utd sign as new goalkeeper?
The obvious name on everyone’s lips is David De Gea. The Spaniard, now 34, is at Fiorentina but reportedly has a small release clause that United could activate.
A return would be dramatic, two years after he was shown the door, but United’s situation might just demand it.
Reports also suggest United are keeping tabs on Emiliano Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma. Both have the experience and personality Neville insists the team needs.
“Martinez has played in a World Cup final and won it. Donnarumma has saved penalties in a European final. They walk out with dominance,” Neville said.
United are also monitoring Brentford defender Nathan Collins as part of wider defensive reinforcements, but the goalkeeper position feels like the most urgent fix.
With the window closing soon, the Red Devils may need to spend again or dip into the loan market.
Arsenal, meanwhile, looked strong at the back once more. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Riccardo Calafiori shut the door on United’s attack, exposing that while Amorim has added new firepower, the cracks at the other end remain.
If United want to mount a serious challenge this season, they cannot afford more flaps in the box. Amorim may have improved the team in many areas, but until the goalkeeper spot is solved, the project will always look shaky.
