Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, couldn't help but laugh after her husband revealed what she told him prior to the start of the 2024 NFL season.
When Brittany Mahomes gave birth to her third child with Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs QB was present because the team was on its playoff bye week. As the two-time NFL MVP revealed, though, it wasn't by luck or accident.
Brittany Mahomes Wanted Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs to Get No. 1 Seed
In the Chiefs' documentary series, Patrick Mahomes admitted that his wife told him before the season started that they needed to get the playoff bye week because she was due to give birth around the time the postseason would kick off.
Their third child, Golden Raye, was born on January 12. The Wild Card round of the playoffs was scheduled from January 11 to 13, so as Patrick Mahomes stated, it "worked out perfectly."
After seeing her husband reveal her challenge-slash-ultimatum, Brittany Mahomes could only admit that "[Patrick Mahomes] only had one option" in the said situation.

Patrick Mahomes Clearly Motivated All Season Long
For the Chiefs to get the playoff bye week, they needed to get the best record and win the AFC. Sure enough, that's what they did, finishing the 2024 campaign with a league-best 15-2 record.
Kansas City officially secured the AFC top seed and the rights to the bye week when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas. At the time, Patrick Mahomes said that he told his pregnant wife he "was gonna get her that No. 1 seed so we can go have that baby."
"Brittany says I've been stressing her out too much this season, so I gotta try to not put that much stress on her through these football games and get that bye," Mahomes further stated at the time, according to CBS Sports.
