Quentin Johnston carted off vs. Rams; KeAndre Lambert-Smith heads to locker room

Two Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers suffer injury against the Los Angeles Rams in Preseason Week 2.

On the third offensive play of the preseason exhibition between the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams, wide receiver Quentin Johnston suffered what appears to be a head injury after taking a huge hit from Rams defensive back Tanner Ingle. Johnston was struck hard and it appears his head hits the field, too.

According to ESPN’s Kris Rhim, Johnston did get up after being visited by trainers on his own power. He got onto the cart, after slamming one of his gloves onto the field and has left the game.

Near the end of the second quarter, KeAndre Lambert-Smith was also injured on a ball thrown over the middle in dangerous territory. Trainers saw to him on the field before he left the field under his own power and went into the locker room.

Both Johnston and Lambert-Smith are expected to contribute significantly for the Chargers this season. The hope is neither suffered significant injuries.
