Angel Reese continues to shine in her second WNBA season.
Through 23 games, Reese is averaging 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks in 31.7 minutes for the Chicago Sky, earning a 2025 WNBA All-Star selection and leading the league in rebounding by a wide margin (again).
On May 27, she surpassed Tina Charles as the fastest player to reach 500 career points and 500 rebounds (38 games) and, less than a month later, she recorded her first triple-double (11 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists vs. the Connecticut Sun), becoming the fastest forward in league history to do so.
Now, one of the WNBA's elite talents is set to give back to the community.
On Saturday, the Angel C. Reese Foundation, in partnership with Reebok, will host a back-to-school bash and backpack giveaway at Intentional Sports in Chicago.
The free event will distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students, and it features a noon Community Chat with Reese, her mother and guests on topics such as back-to-school readiness, mental resilience, anti-bullying strategies and the role of parents and caregivers.
Reese amplified the details on her Instagram story on Wednesday with an official countdown to the event.
Angel Reese Community Involvement and Foundation Work
Reese launched the Angel C. Reese Foundation in 2023 in her home state of Maryland, when Reese was still at LSU, designed to foster equity for girls and underrepresented groups in sports, education and financial literacy.
The foundation’s stated mission emphasizes practical programs and resources that open access and build confidence for the next generation, with Reese and her mother (Angel Webb Reese) playing hands-on roles in programming and administration.
Before turning pro, Reese put early weight behind the initiative with school-based giveaways and support for youth in both Baltimore and Baton Rouge, including a back-to-school block party and supplies distribution.
In Chicago, Reese has described giving back as "really important," pointing to representation and meeting kids’ needs through visible, tangible support.
She has increasingly referred to Chicago as a "second home" as well, linking her on-court role to local community investment.

Earlier this summer, she also partnered with Cash App and Project Backboard to unveil a renovated outdoor court at Oakwood Beach on the South Side.
This back-to-school event is just another example of how Reese continues to set the bar as a role model both on and off the court.
