New signing speaks
Speaking to the media in a recent interview, the youngster opened up in detail about his career, his path to Spain and his aspirations moving forward in his career.
He opened by speaking on how it was a special time for him having just been presented as a new Real Madrid player and completing his first training session with the group.
“It’s a very special day for me. I was looking forward to this day and I’m enjoying it. I had a great reception at the club and I’m very happy.”
Speaking on what Real Madrid meant to him and how it was a dream come true to be at the club, he said,
“I don’t need to say it myself. We all know that Real Madrid is the biggest team in the world. To come here and wear this shirt is an incredible dream that I want to enjoy and make the most of.”
Mastantuono was presented as a new Real Madrid player on August 14th which happens to be his birthday and he elaborated how he could not have asked for a better gift.
“It’s a dream birthday and I think it’s going to be the happiest birthday of my life.”
The Argentine phenom then lauded the club for its accomplishments over the years and how they only served as a testament to the institution’s greatness.
“This trophy room shows what the club is all about, what a winning team it is. It’s the biggest club in the world and to be able to stand next to such important awards is wonderful.”
Sharing his thoughts on Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid president, and the warm welcome he extended to him, Mastantuono said,
“I met him and he was very nice to me. He welcomed me warmly and I’m very happy to have met him. I want to thank him for the way he received me.”

Alfredo Di Stefano, one of the greatest players of all time, followed a similar career trajectory as he played for River Plate and Real Madrid in his glorious career. Commenting on the comparisons with the legend, the youngster said,
“Alfredo was an idol for the club and football. I didn’t have the chance to see him play but from everything I’ve heard about him, it says a lot about his stature.”
“It’s very nice to be Argentinian and to be able to come and play for Real Madrid like he did,” he added.
Elaborating on how he never had any doubts about signing for Real Madrid over the other options on his table, the midfielder said,
“It’s the greatest team in the world. It was a dream of mine since I was a child to be able to come here and when Real Madrid came along, I didn’t hesitate for a second and it was the best choice I’ve ever made.”
Adapting to the pressure at Real Madrid is something even some of the greats fail at, and the youngster was asked if he was prepared for the challenge ahead.
“First, I will help the team in whatever way I can. I’m a strong-minded person and I really like challenges. I’m left-footed, I like to shoot and assist my teammates.”
Mastantuono also revealed that he was excited to play at the Santiago Bernabeu and how it was one of the best stadiums on the planet.
“The fact that we can see it every day is unbelievable. It’s a dream pitch, which seems like it’s not real. Seeing it excites me a lot and I’m really looking forward to playing there.”
Finally, the new signing was asked to leave a message for the fans, to which he responded,
“Madridistas: I’d like to thank you for the kindness with which you received me. I’ve felt at home on the first day I’ve been in Madrid.”
“I’m going to give my life for this shirt and I hope that this year and many more we can win many trophies. Hala Madrid!,” he added.
