Ole Miss Football needed a jolt of Mississippi ties in its football recruiting department after multiple offseason departures and on Friday, it got it. Sources told Rebel Grove that former Rebels wide receiver Donte Moncrief was hired for a role in the player personnel and recruiting department.

Since his NFL career ended in 2020, Moncrief’s been active in Mississippi with some of the state’s top talent, including 2026 elite wide receiver and current Auburn pledge Jase Mathews.

Since personnel staffers like Alex Brown, Kelvin Bolden and Marvin Nash left this offseason, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and general manager Billy Glasscock have been working on replacements.

Earlier this month, Ole Miss hired a Mississippi native in Dwike Wilson for a staff role. Wilson came from Old Dominion and has deep ties to the state. Moncrief has an opportunity to bring more of the same now.
