NFL Still Can't Get Over Shedeur Sanders' Preseason Debut originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his preseason NFL debut on Friday against the Carolina Panthers, and he lived up to the hype.
With Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett nursing injuries, it was only Sanders and Tyler Huntley who saw snaps at the QB position for Cleveland.
Sanders threw a pair of touchdowns and had plenty of impressive plays in his first NFL action, and there is even more buzz in Cleveland amid the ongoing QB battle.
Days later, the Sanders hype is still swirling around social media.
NFL Continues Sanders Hype Train
On Monday night, days after the Browns' preseason opener, the NFL Instagram account continued with the Sanders hype.
The account posted a video of Sanders with some highlights, including one of his touchdown passes and his famous wrist-up celebration.
"Wrist up = perfect timing," the captain read.
The video also said "Shedeur's Wrist Celly is Legendary," with a watch emoji on the screen.
So, even days after the game, the NFL is still rolling out Sanders' hype clips.
When Did Shedeur Sanders' Celebration Start?
Sanders' celebration went viral during his days with the Colorado Buffaloes, so it isn't surprising to see him continue it in the NFL.
Ahead of the NFL Draft, Sanders had answered whether or not the celebration would continue.
“Of course, that’s my celebration,” Sanders said. “Anytime anybody holds their wrist up, they pay tribute to me, man.”
He did it multiple times throughout the game, and this was only the opener, so expect to see many more of these celebrations going forward, especially if Sanders emerges as the Browns' QB1.
