Browns Release Depth Chart After Shedeur Sanders' First Preseason Start

The Browns updated their depth chart again.

The Cleveland Browns released their first unofficial depth chart on Aug. 4, just days before their preseason opener on Friday night against the Carolina Panthers. At quarterback, Joe Flacco was listed as the starter, followed by Kenny Pickett at No. 2, Dillon Gabriel at No. 3 and Shedeur Sanders at No. 4.

Come game time, the Browns decided to rest Flacco, and with Pickett and Gabriel both sidelined by hamstring injuries, Sanders got the start. Newly signed Tyler Huntley served as his backup.

Sanders went on to play into the third quarter and had himself a game as the Browns won 30-10. The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback completed 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

Fast forward to Monday, and the Browns released another unofficial depth chart ahead of the team's second preseason game — unchanged from the first at quarterback.

Sanders continues to remain focused on himself and not let any of the outside noise, nor the other quarterbacks he's battling against, knock him off his game.

"I felt like myself out there," Sanders said. "When you’re out there on the field, it’s different. Ball is ball. Ball’s never been a problem for me. It’s whatever the optics are that everybody makes up after — outside the game. But in the game, I know who I am."

Will Sanders Start Preseason Game No. 2?

The Browns will travel to face the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, and head coach Kevin Stefanski has yet to name a starter for the game.

“I’m not there on the game itself. By Wednesday or Thursday, I’ll have a better feel for the game and how we’re going to handle that, and I’ll update you guys, but I’m not there yet,” Stefanksi said to the media on Monday.
