🚨 BREAKING: Nottingham Forest reach 'total agreement' for Man City player

Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign attacking midfielder James McAtee in a deal worth £30 million, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The reported deal between the Premier League clubs also includes a buy-back clause and sell-on terms.

The 22-year-old England Under-21 international is set to move to the City Ground after the two clubs settled on a package that includes sell-on and buy-back clauses. The agreement follows weeks of negotiations, during which Forest saw an initial bid of £25 million rejected.

City had been holding out for a higher valuation, with figures between £35 million and £40 million previously reported. However, Forest’s persistence has paid off, with the final deal believed to meet City’s minimum acceptable price while safeguarding their long-term interest in the player.

McAtee, a product of Manchester City’s academy, has impressed during loan spells at Sheffield United and with England’s U21 side, where he has worn the captain’s armband. Nottingham Forest views him as a key addition ahead of their upcoming Europa League campaign, particularly after the departure of winger Anthony Elanga.
