Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown embarrasses Dolphins secondary in one-sided practice showdown

The Miami Dolphins are going into what is likely to be a lackluster season. On Wednesday, Amon-Ra St. Brown absolutely torched the Dolphins secondary.

The Miami Dolphins are an interesting team to evaluate as the season progresses. They have a pretty solid offense, but injuries are plaguing the defense. During training camp, the Dolphins have had to sign veterans to add depth to the secondary.

“Miami signed veteran cornerback Mike Hilton to help bolster the unit, NFL Network's Cam Wolfe reported on Saturday. The Dolphins announced earlier in the day that they had signed cornerback Jack Jones,” NFL.com’s Eric Edholm wrote.

The Dolphins aren’t letting the locker room implode, despite the culture being pretty toxic over the past year.

“Except this isn't a one-year issue with Miami. Set aside the iffy football decisions, like Grier's inability to field a stable offensive line or properly manage high-profile salaries over the course of a nine-year tenure featuring exactly zero playoff victories. Just from a culture perspective, Miami has been the NFL equivalent of an accident -- a controversy, a feud, a drama -- waiting to happen,” CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin wrote.

On Wednesday, the Dolphins and Lions held a joint practice. While the practice seemed to go great for the Lions, the Dolphins had a much rougher day. It was described as the most lopsided practice.

“That was the most lopsided joint practice I’ve ever seen. Lions dominated both sides," The Athletic's Colton Pouncy wrote.

The Dolphins’ offense struggled against the Lions, but no player had a better day than Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was featured in an entire montage dominating the Dolphins’ secondary. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, but no player should have over a minute-long montage from just one practice.

The Dolphins’ secondary will need to take significant strides if they want any shot at being a successful team. Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat, and after watching the way his defense played, he might be concerned about his future. As for Brown, he probably had loads of fun embarrassing Miami’s defense.
