Malik Nabers and Kyren Lacy played at LSU together in 2022 and 2023. In December 2024, Lacy, who died on April 12, was accused of killing a 78-year-old man in a car accident in December 2024. He turned himself in to the police, and a grand jury was set to hear evidence in the case the day after he died by suicide.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, Nabers said he plans to use Lacy’s touchdown celebration every time he scores this upcoming season. “Imma be switching out of those dances that he used to do when we used to play together, so just to honor him and everybody remember his name,” he said via TMZ Sports. “So I would just wanna, you know, show gratitude to him, so a couple of his dances I’m gonna be showing during the season.”
Malik Nabers had a huge 2024 season
Based on the way he played last year, Nabers will likely see the endzone a lot in 2025. In his rookie season, Nabers caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and finished fifth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
In a recent interview with On3, Nabers talked about his biggest takeaways from the 2024 season. “Just having that mentality to when I come into the game, just to keep my foot on the opponent’s neck, whether we winning or whether we were losing or just also being that guy that my quarterback can rely on rather than just getting open or just getting catches in, trying to create other downs, getting first downs, getting touchdowns,” Malik Nabers told On3. “So just having that extra guy that’s on the field that always can be open and be reliable for a QB when he throws me the ball.”
