Caitlin Clark posed the question on everyone’s minds regarding Taylor Swift‘s upcoming appearance on the New Heights podcast. And it’s a legitimate concern.

“Are we sure YouTube isn’t going to crash tonight?” Clark wrote on X.

New Heights, which is hosted by Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, made the announcement of Swift as a guest on Monday. That video has since garnered 24.7 million views on X.

Many fans are predicting that the actual podcast could potentially break the YouTube record for the most-viewed podcast. If that does happen, one has to wonder whether the site is prepared to handle that much traffic at once when the episode drops at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Currently, the most-watched podcast in YouTube history according to Guiness World Records is Fnjan Podcast, based in Saudi Arabia. That episode, titled “Secrets to Thriving in Relationships” and released in November 2022, is currently at 144 million views and still climbing.

Joe Rogan Experience, which is one of the most popular podcasts in the world, set its record high with a 2018 episode that featured Elon Musk and, as of this writing has more than 69 million views. Another notable episode is Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay interview with comedian Katt Williams, which has 90 million YouTube views to date.

The most-watched episode of New Heights at this point features Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie, as a guest and has 8.6 million views. But given Swift’s popularity and fandom, this upcoming episode should easily surpass that.

Whether it can challenge for the world record is another story, but Swift does have a global fanbase. That in mind, hopefully YouTube staff has taken the measures to ensure it can handle all those viewers when the episode drops.

Caitlin Clark, Taylor Swift have had multiple encounters over past year

Clark and Swift have developed a friendship over the past year. Clark attended back-to-back Eras Tour shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in November, where she met Swift’s mother and Travis Kelce. Swift gave Clark four bags of Ears Tour merchandise that also included a note that said “Trav and I” were excited to get to see her at a Fever game.

Later in January, Swift and Clark were seen sitting next to each other at a suite during a Divisional Round NFL playoff game between the Chiefs and Texans. Clark is also a noted Chiefs fan, having grown up three hours from Kansas City in Des Moines, Iowa.

In fact, Caitlin Clark was the first of the two between her and Taylor Swift to make an appearance on the New Heights podcast. She joined the show in January and opened up on her Chiefs fandom as well as many other topics.

“I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City,” Clark said during that appearance. “That’s just the closest NFL team. My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up. People think I’m a bandwagon Chiefs fan. I’m like, No, I was there before Patrick and Travis. We were ride or die. We’ve been big fans, and now, obviously, all the success you guys had has made it a lot of fun for us.”
