Florian Plettenbergreports that Beşiktaş have emerged as potential takers for VfL Wolfsburg centre-back Moritz Jenz. The 26-year-old recently returned to the Autostadt after spending a year on loan at Mainz. Despite some success there, Jenz no longer enjoys playing prospects at his current Bundesliga club.
Beşiktaş recently completed the permanent purchase of Jenz’s German compatriot Felix Uduokhai of FC Augsburg. Like Uduokhai, Jenz is of German-Nigerian heritage. The Süper Lig side may be very interested in getting both central defenders on the squad.
Plettenberg notes that Beşiktaş have merely enquired about Jenz. The former Celtic professional remains under contract with Germany’s green company team until 2027 and maintains a €5m estimated market value.
A loan with a purchase option could be arranged. Uduokhai too initially joined Beşiktaş on loan last season before the Turkish outfit signed him permanently for €5m.
