Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Italian 18-year-old centre-back Giovanni Leoni from Parma, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer has reportedly been finalised for a fee of around €35 million, with an additional sell-on clause included.
Notably, the deal is for a permanent transfer, there was never any discussion of a loan, highlighting Liverpool’s commitment to integrating Leoni into their long-term strategy.Â
Leoni, widely regarded as one of Italy’s most promising young defenders, will add significant quality and depth to Liverpool’s backline. His arrival aligns with Slot’s vision for the team, signalling a proactive approach to strengthening the squad for both domestic and European competition.Â
The Reds are looking to bolster their backline this summer and the Premier League champions also remain in discussions with Crystal Palace over a move for Marc Guéhi.
