The Boston Celtics didn't accomplish what they were looking to with Malcolm Brogdon on their roster, but the reality is that the team got exactly what they needed from him.

Brogdon won the Sixth Man of the Year award, showing his value to the Celtics. However, in typical Brogdon fashion, he dealt with an injury throughout the playoffs, something the front office, fan base, and team weren't hoping for. That's likely part of why he remains unsigned, but it remains uncertain what he could be looking for on the open market and whether that's playing a factor.

Still looking for a team, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report believes he could eventually find one with the Golden State Warriors. He noted that other teams have shown interest, but with most already having their rosters figured out, the Warriors might be the best fit for him.

“Brogdon played a bit part in 2024-25 for the Wizards, making 24 appearances after various injuries. He averaged 12.7 points and 4.1 assists per game but struggled with his outside shot (28.6 percent). Almost 33, he could still help a team with playoff aspirations as an experienced point guard off the bench.

“Teams like the L.A. Clippers and Dallas Mavericks had shown interest, but they went with Chris Paul and D'Angelo Russell, respectively. The most obvious team in need may be the Golden State Warriors,” he wrote.

Brogdon has spent much of his career on the East Coast, outside of his short stint with the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2023-24 campaign, with Milwaukee falling in the middle.

California would be new for him, but if he wants the best chance to win, the Warriors might offer him that.
