Garcia to i.l., Carter activated

The Rangers swap out outfielders on the i.l.

The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Adolis Garcia on the 10 day injured list with a sprained ankle, the team announced today. To replace him on the active roster, the Rangers have activated outfielder Evan Carter from the injured list.

Well, we thought Carter might be back pretty soon, after making a rehab appearance for Frisco last night. We just didn’t think it would be this soon. I think in an ideal world Carter would have played again for Frisco today and maybe tomorrow, and possibly been activated on Friday. Instead, with Garcia apparently laid up, Carter is back for the finale of the homestand.

I haven’t seen anything about how severe Garcia’s injury is or how he sprained his ankle. The beats do say, though, that Wyatt Langford has “forearm tightness” and isn’t playing today, so that’s pretty awesome.

Hopefully Langford’s issue is minor and Garcia is back relatively quickly.
