VfL Bochum has officially accepted the transfer offer for Moritz Broschinski, who joins Swiss Super League club FC Basel.
The striker managed to score 6 goals in 76 matches for VfL, the most recent in the second division opener against SV Darmstadt 98.
Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the amount of the transfer fee paid for the 24-year-old German marksman.
"We emphasized that none of our players is unsellable, and that we have to weigh the sporting value against the financial value with every potential transfer.
"Moritz Broschinski presented himself in good form during preseason and confirmed this impression at the start of the season.
"However, he was now entering the final year of his contract, and we had no prospect of an extension.
“That's part of the deal; we respect his desire to pursue other paths in the future. We wish Moritz Broschinski all the best in Basel,” said sporting director Dirk Dufner.
