Atalanta are continuing in their pursuit of Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz as a potential replacement for Italy international Mateo Retegui, but still face competition from newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United.
Atalanta talks for Muniz underway with Fulham
Atalanta had initially made an approach for Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, but were met with resistance from the South Londoners, who are unwilling to part ways with their fan-favourite centre-forward.
Their pursuit of Muniz has continued, though, and despite initial resistance from the Cottagers, negotiations are now underway and the deal is on track, Football Italia understands.

Certain details still need to be finalised, though, most importantly in relation to a transfer fee.
Fulham’s current asking price is in excess of €40m with bonuses included. Further developments on the matter are expected to arrive in the near future.
Atalanta are hoping to put their noses in front of some of the other interested parties, among which is Leeds United.
