Former Major League Baseball outfielder Johnny Damon went through a couple physical transformations during his career.

With the Boston Red Sox, Damon famously grew a long flowing hairstyle and a perfectly trimmed bead to match. But then with the New York Yankees, Damon cut his hair and shaved the beard.

On Saturday, Damon turned heads with a mix of both styles.

While appearing in uniform at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Damon featured a shaved face but the long hair he became famous for while making two All-Star teams with the Red Sox.

"Johnny Damon rocking the long hair with pinstripes," wrote The Athletic's Chris Kirschner as a caption to a picture of Damon's new appearance.

When Damon played, he wouldn't have been permitted to have the long hair with the Yankees. But on Saturday, a lot of social media users had a good laugh about Damon back in pinstripes while featuring long hair.

Overall, though, Damon's appearance received a wide range of reactions.

Damon was back at Yankee Stadium for Old-Timers Day. Every year, the Yankees invite alumni to return to the field for a game before the team plays a weekend matchup.

The outfielder last played for the Yankees in 2009, which is the last time the franchise won the World Series. From 2006-09, Damon hit .285 with an .821 OPS in 576 games for New York.

Damon also spent four seasons with the Red Sox. He won his first World Series with the club in 2004. The outfielder made his only two All-Star teams with the Red Sox in 2002 and 2005.

Damon also played for the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays and the then Cleveland Indians in his 18-year career.
