Dallas could use this receiver depth.
Cowboys' undrafted rookie expected to move up depth chart after great NFL debut originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Dallas Cowboys may have more wide receiver depth than they were planning on.
Undrafted rookie Traeshon Holden has been getting rave reviews all training camp and also played well in the preseason opener Saturday night against the Rams.
Holden had two grabs for 42 yards on Saturday, including a 35-yarder.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters some great things about Holden afterward:
"He shows up every day. He really does. Every day, he makes a play... That’s a guy you’re going to continue to see moving up the depth chart.”

Holden began his college career at Alabama and spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide, putting up a total of 46 catches, 570 yards and seven TDs as mostly a depth player.
He moved on to Oregon for his final two college seasons and blossomed with the Ducks.
In 2023, Holden had 37 catches for 452 yards and six scores.
Then in 2024, Holden went for 45 grabs, 718 yards and five more TDs.

At 6-foot-3, 208 pounds, Holden looks the part.
He runs a 4.57-second 40-yard dash, which isn't great but is fine for a bigger-bodied receiver.
Dallas doesn't need him to be a star, but it wouldn't hurt the Cowboys to have a young, cheap player emerge at the back of their WR depth chart.
Holden will have two more preseason games and some important practices to make the final case that he belongs on this roster, and if he can do that, it's already a great accomplishment in his NFL career.
