The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in a few short weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way back over to the Peach State and check out the 4-time state champion Grayson Rams. The Rams are coming off winning last year’s GHSA Class 6A state championship behind arguably one of the most talented defenses in Georgia. Now Grayson is looking to notch a repeat this fall, can they pull off the feat?

Player Spotlight: LB Tyler Atkinson

There’s no linebacker better in the country when it comes to the 6-foot-2, 205 pound Atkinson. Whether you need him to plug the gaps in the middle or cover running backs out of the backfield, the Texas Longhorns’ commitment can really do it all. Atkinson last season for Grayson was literally a tackling machine, racking up 166 tackles, 32 for loss and 13 sacks. When it comes to the top players in the Peach State, there’s not many that can hold a candle to the 5-star backer.

Others to watch: QB Travis Burgess, LB Anthony Davis, S Hannibal Navies, EDGE T.K. Cunningham, WR Dawson Quarterman, DL Cameron McGee, EDGE Lawrence Brown, DL Waylon Wooten, CB Rilee Drew, S London Goggans, LB Eli Harris, WR Ty’Jae Clark

Season Prediction: 10-0

Coming off the kind of season the Rams had last year, it’s really hard to look away and believe they can’t repeat as Class 6A state champions. Now we know how this went last year, with Grayson losing the season opener against Collins Hill and then reeling off 14 straight victories en route to the title. This time around, we don’t see the Rams losing a single time as they defeat the Eagles on the road and end up winning every game on the schedule. Matchups against out-of-state opponents like Mallard Creek (N.C.) and Thompson (Ala.) only help the Rams prepare for what will be a treacherous state championship defense.
