Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Lucas Chevalier (23). The French goalkeeper leaves his formative club, Lille OSC, signing a five-year deal with the reigning European champions.
Chevalier is a long-term target for PSG. They made their move this summer amid a standoff in contract extension talks with Gianluigi Donnarumma. Despite several months of negotiations, an agreement was not found with the Italian. PSG, desperate to avoid a repeat of the Kylian Mbappé situation, made an ultimatum: extend or leave. As he did not do the former, the latter now looks inevitable, especially given Chevalier’s arrival. RMC Sport understands that Luis Enrique has already communicated that the former LOSC goalkeeper will be his No.1 for the coming season.
L’Équipe understands that PSG have paid a €40m fee, which could increase substantially. Including bonuses, the deal could rise to €50m. His contract with Les Parisiens runs until the summer of 2030.
