Reports: Leverkusen close to signing forward Poku from Alkmaar

Bayer Leverkusen are close to signing forward Ernest Poku from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, broadcaster Sky and the Kicker magazine said.

According to the reports, Leverkusen have reached an agreement with Alkamaar and will pay around €10 million ($11.65 million) for the 21-year-old player.

Poku is expected to sign a contract with the Bundesliga team until 2030. Medical checks are to take place next week.

Leverkusen are looking for attacking options after key players Florian Wirtz and Granit Xhaka left this summer. They also lost Defenders Jeremie Frimpong and Jonatahan Tah, as well as goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

So far the club has signed midfielders Ibrahim Maza and Malik Tillman, defender Jarell Quansah and goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
