Nix spent five full seasons in college between Auburn University and the University of Oregon, entering the 2024 NFL draft at the age of 24. While his maturity appeared to be appealing for many teams, the football world felt he was drafted ahead of projections. The Broncos drafted Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the draft.
All he did was prove head coach, Sean Payton, and Broncos talent evaluators correct, putting on an absolute show in his rookie season. Nix's rookie season was an overwhelming success, leading the Broncos to a 10-7 record while also finishing top-15 in completion % (66.3), passing yards (3,775), and passing touchdowns (29).
Bo Nix Tells the World What he Learned From Drew Brees During Offseason Workouts
While most young QBs would be content obtaining this level of success early on in their career, Nix appears be hungry for more.
Nix had the fortune of spending time training with legendary QB, Drew Brees this offseason.
And during an appearance on The Athletic's "Scoop City" this week, hosted by former QB Chase Daniel and Senior NFL Insider, Dianna Russini, Nix revealed what he learned from his time training with Brees.

"It's more about how to operate, what his routine was on a Monday to Saturday getting ready for a Sunday game. Ya know, how he took care of his body, what kind of arm care he did...I'm trying to replicate it and find he success that he had," Nix said.
Daniel proceeded to ask Nix what the most important takeaway from his time with Brees was.
"It's the mental side of the game, that's what speeds your growth up. It's all about what goes on in the mind, how you handle adversity, how you handle good things, bad things, how you handle a locker room, how you handle a huddle. There's just so many layers to it, I just want to get ahead of it," Nix said.
Nix was afforded a unique opportunity to learn from one of the NFL's greatest QBs of all-time. Brees ranks No. 2 all-time in passing yards (80,358) and passing TDs (571).
Brees also played under coach Payton for the New Orleans Saints. Payton coached Brees for all 15 seasons he played for the Saints and the duo hoisted one Lombardi Trophy together after winning the Super Bowl in 2009.
Nix expressed his willingness to learn from Bress this offseason, and that he's emphasizing the mental side of the game and how to navigate a long, healthy career while speeding up the path to success.
