The dominance of Corey Heim continues. Despite issues in the race, Heim made a comeback to stretch fuel and win. Watkins Glen marks the fourth straight road course win for the Tricon Garage driver in the NASCAR Truck Series.

Multiple overtime restarts almost kept Corey Heim from winning. Not only was he low on fuel, but on the final restart, he appeared to make at least a couple of mistakes or missteps.

Daniel Hemric pressured Heim hard on the final restart. But things went Heim’s way once again as he collected his sixth win of the season. He already secured the regular season title at IRP two weeks ago. This is just icing on the cake.

Corey Heim led the most laps today, 44, on his way to the win. However, it wasn’t so easy. There was a moment in the final stage when Heim went back in the top-10. He then blew through the bus stop turns and had to perform a stop-and-go penalty on the track.

Even with Cup Series talent like Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, and Chris Buescher in the race as well as, Connor Zilisch, Heim held on. Heck, Hemric was in the Cup Series just last season. This may have been one of the most impressive wins for Heim in his career, given who was in the field.

Corey Heim bounces back to win from the pole

There has been a trend recently that Corey Heim appears to have broken. Before winning the pole and the race at Lime Rock Park earlier this season, Heim had gone on a streak of pole awards with disappointing finishes. Now, he’s won two races in a row from P1.

Heim did a great job today. He fell back in the field and had to collect himself. With names like Zilisch receiving a ton of hype recently, it is easy to forget about Heim, who finds himself in yet another season of the Truck Series. But Heim is just as prepared for the Cup Series as Zilisch. He just hasn’t found a ride yet.

Today, Heim made sure no one forgot about him. He was out front all day. Heim went at it with Cup drivers and other talented racers. In the end, he came out on top like he has so many times this season. Another win, more playoff points, and there remains no reason why Heim can’t march his way to Phoenix this November.
