Zach Orr proves he can reign even with his reserves as Ravens beat Colts 24-16

Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr is all about execution, preseason or not.

The Indianapolis Colts didn’t have much offensive success versus the Baltimore Ravens in week 1 of the NFL preseason. Sure, the Colts aren’t expected to have a high-powered offensive attack this season on paper, but defensive coordinator Zach Orr was prepared to send a message anyway.

Orr’s defense gave up just 16 points to the Colts, who operated a total of 78 offensive plays. The Colts went six for nineteen on third-downs and were forced to punt a total of six times. Three hundred thirty-six yards were allowed by the Ravens’ defense, who spent extended time on the field due to quarterback Cooper Rush’s and Devin Leary’s combined two interception throws, but despite that, they held their ground.

A staple moment of the game came when outside linebacker David Ojabo executed a bone-crushing sack on Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. in the first quarter. Ultimately, the Ravens’ reserves allowed only one touchdown, solidifying a dominant aura and leaving the Colts feeling dismal and distraught.

Ultimately, Orr is passionate about assuring that all of his personnel are on board and buying into his system. For more statistical information on the Ravens' preseason week 1 outing, click here for the standouts and underperformers from last night's game.
