It has been a slow offseason thus far for the Golden State Warriors as they continue to deal with the ongoing situation with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga.

Kuminga has reportedly turned down the Warriors’ contract offer and while other teams have offered him a contract in free agency, they have failed to meet Golden State’s high asking price for him in a potential sign-and-trade deal.

Of course, Kuminga’s role in Golden State heading into next season is uncertain after he fell out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season and while many expected him to be on the move this offseason because of it, the Warriors are reportedly looking to keep him around.

Despite this, Golden State is entertaining offers for their young forward this offseason and if they end up receiving the right deal, it would not be a surprise if they traded him.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, they would likely have to include one of their key players in a potential Kuminga trade and recent report revealed that they are hesitant to do so.

According to The Ahtletic’s Sam Amick, the Warriors do not want to move either Buddy Hield or Moses Moody in a potential Kuminga trade, though it would be required for them to do so for salary reasons.

This is a massive report by Amick as he also confirmed Tim Kawakami’s report that the Warriors are signaling that they are looking to keep Kuminga on their roster next season.

Of course, both Hield and Moody played key roles for the Warriors last season both in the starting lineup and off the bench so it is not a surprise that Golden State does not want to move either of them.

Despite this, it would not be a complete surprise if they end up changing their mind as the offseason drags on, especially if Kuminga makes it known that he does not want to remain in Golden State.

If that is the case, expect the Warriors to consider moving one of either Hield or Moody along with Kuminga in a trade as they try to upgrade their roster around Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green heading into next season.
