Toronto FC have made a significant move in their bid to replace departing stars Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi, as they have completed a deal for Colorado Rapids star Djordje Mihailovic, reportedly splashing $8m plus on the American attacker.
Mihailovic has scored 40 goals and 21 assists in 187 MLS games across stints with Chicago, Montréal, and Colorado, but has emerged as one of the best attacking players in the league since making his return from Europe in 2024.
The Florida native will put pen to paper on a deal that keeps him in Toronto through 2027, but a long-term contract is said to be in the works already, as they reportedly see him as 'the face of a new era' after successive seasons without making the MLS Cup Playoffs.

MLS only instituted a 'cash for player' transfer market in the winter of 2025 — Mihailovic's move would be the second most expensive intraleague cash transfer in MLS history.
