Samuel Adegbenro bounces back in Norway

Free since last January following his departure from Beijing Guoan (China), Samuel Adegbenro has found a new destination.

The 29-year-old Nigerian forward has signed with Egersunds IK, a current competitor in Norway's second division. After a successful spell at IFK Norrköping, where he shone in the Allsvenskan in 2021, Adegbenro is now making his return to Scandinavia. Kenneth Andersen, the club's sporting director, explained the decision:

Samuel is hungry for football after his break due to injury, and he has family in Stavanger. On our end, we were looking for an experienced player to help move the team forward.

A contract has been signed for the remainder of the season. The objective: to bring his experience and attacking flair to Egersunds IK. It's a new challenge for the former Norrköping prospect, who is now ready to roar again... in yellow and black.
