The press conference was noticeably missing Doncic's running mate and fellow superstar LeBron James, who took the opportunity to head out on the golf course with his son Bronny, the Lakers' reserve shooting guard.
Following the James duo's decision to skip Doncic's press conference, veteran sports pundit Dan Patrick took to the airwaves on X to share his take, which was critical of the Lakers second year man.
"Bronny James should have been there. You're the last guy on the roster," Patrick said.
"You should be there."
Patrick's comments were released in a three-plus minute long video during which he said Bronny James should have told his father that he should cut short his vacation to be at Doncic's press conference.
"I think it's awkward," Patrick said.
Patrick also spoke glowingly of Doncic's commitment to getting into his best shape, dropping a LeBron James reference.
"When this trade happened, I said if Luka wants to be the best player in the league, all he has to do is look at LeBron James...We've seen what's happened this offseason. He's gotten in his best shape," Patrick added.
