Triple H Sends Clear Message on Brock Lesnar's Return Amid Lawsuit

Lesnar’s F5 ambush at SummerSlam ignites rivalry.

Triple H Sends Clear Message on Brock Lesnar's Return Amid Lawsuit originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Brock Lesnar made his return to the WWE after nearly two years on the final night of SummerSlam 2025. After Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena for the WWE Championship, Cena was soaking in the final moments of his last SummerSlam before 60,000 fans.

Just as Cena was about to leave, “The Next Big Thing” engulfed the stadium.

Lesnar did what he does best: he entered and delivered an F5 to the already battered Cena, setting the stage for the final rivalry of the star's career. In the post-match interview, Triple H (whose real name is Paul Michael Levesque) opened up about the whole incident.

“My reaction was exactly what I thought it was going to be, which was if there has been roof off his place, it wouldn’t be here anymore,” Triple H explained, per CosmicBook.News.

“The dynamic in the room changes when The Beast is here. Seeing Brock Lesnar come back, anything that you thought was happening, sort of all goes out the window because the factor of Brock now just changes that dynamic so incredibly and makes it unpredictable.”

Triple H also revealed that Cena wanted a Lesnar rivalry in his retirement tour and his wishes came true on Sunday. However, what baffled the fans more than his return was the timing of it.

Brock Lesnar Named in Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon

In January 2024, WWE employee Janel Grant sued Vince McMahon alleging sexual assault and trafficking. In early 2025, Grant amended her complaint to identify Brock Lesnar as the unnamed talent McMahon allegedly instructed her to produce sexual content for in July 2021.

Lesnar was subsequently dropped from WWE merchandise.

Amid these serious allegations, Lesner's controversial return led to a strong reaction on social media. It will be worth watching to see how the WWE continues to handle this storyline given the lawsuit.
