Georgia football will play against four opponents coming off bye weeks this season. UGA is at a rest disadvantage against two key SEC opponents
The Georgia Bulldogs only have three true road games in 2025, but two of Georgia's opponents still have a significant advantage over the Bulldogs. Georgia will play against four opponents coming off bye weeks this season.
Georgia has a pair of bye weeks. One comes on Sept. 20 before the Bulldogs host the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama also has a bye ahead of the Georgia game. Georgia's other bye week comes on Oct. 25 before Georgia plays the Florida Gators in Jacksonville, Florida. As usual, both Georgia and Florida have bye weeks ahead of the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Georgia has no significant rest advantages over their opponents this season.
However, two of Georgia's SEC opponents have byes the week before they play the Bulldogs. The Auburn Tigers have a bye week on Oct. 4 before they host Georgia in a night game on Oct. 11. Auburn's rest advantage is a big reason why CBS Sports projects that the Tigers will be the first team to defeat Georgia in 2025.
The Texas Longhorns also have a bye week on Nov. 8 before playing at Georgia in an SEC championship rematch on Nov. 15, which is Georgia's final SEC regular season game. Texas' rest advantage could help the Longhorns get over the hump after going 0-2 against Georgia last season.
