Lions Newcomer Shares Fired up Take on Kelvin Sheppard's Defensive System in Detroit originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Detroit Lions have plenty of new pieces to work with on defense including rookie first round pick Tyleik Williams and free agent cornerback DJ Reed among others.

Another newcomer is fellow cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, who joined Detroit by signing as an unrestricted free agent after playing last season in San Francisco.

Ya-Sin played 13 games with coach Kyle Shanahan's 49ers, recording two pass break-ups and three tackles in limited duty with the team.

On Sunday, video surfaced of Ya-Sin sharing his unfiltered thoughts on his role with the Lions and his fired up three-word take on coach Kelvin Sheppard's defensive philosophy.

"Just being multiple, being a versatile guy... Be an asset to the team in any way I that I can help this team win, I wanna do it," Ya-Sin said about his plans with the Lions.
"I think I fit in well, I mean it's an aggressive defense, play a lot of man. We do a lot of different things... It's aggressive as hell.

"You know, I love that part about it... It's a technically sound defense, I mean it's a really good defense, Shep's calling it well, it's a good system here."

The Lions are scheduled to take on the Atlanta Falcons this coming Friday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a chance for Ya-Sin and his lesser known teammates to make names for themselves against a young and hungry opponent in preseason contest number two so far this season.
