2026 No. 8 EDGE, Texas target Jake Kreul sets decision date

Texas and coach LaAllan Clark really want another EDGE for the Class of 2026. They’re hoping Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star Jake Kreul is the guy.

The 6-foot-2, 223-pounder dropped his top three last month: Texas, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss. All three have been steady in his recruitment. Now he has an announcement date on August 12.

Clark and the Longhorns would be excited about Kreul joining Texas EDGE commit Richard Wesley in this cycle.

Kreul is the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 8 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in Florida.

Rivals’ Recruiting Prediction Machine has had Oklahoma in the lead all summer, but the Horns and Rebels have continued to push the right buttons. He originally wanted to commit around October, but has now pushed up his timeline.
