Pitt has locked in an official visit with another top target in the class of 2026.
Jermal Jones Jr. – a 6-foot-4 guard from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. – picked up an offer from Jeff Capel and the Pitt Panthers last month and, as Dushawn London of 247Sports reported, he’ll be in town for an official visit for Sept. 26-28.
Jones is a rising recruit who holds offers from Cal, Cincinnati, Clemson, Florida State, Mississippi State, Purdue, Washington and West Virginia.
He plays at IMG Academy, but he’s earned a lot of praise this summer from his work at the AAU level. He’s starred at the Jet Academy in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL).
The intrigue with Jones is apparent. He’s an athletic combo guard who’s able to play a two-way game with his shot creation and ability to defend multiple positions. He also possesses the blend of competitiveness and aggression that Capel has tried to bring in this offseason.
On3 rates him as the 83rd-ranked recruit in the class (22nd-ranked shooting guard and 14th-ranked recruit from Florida). He’s rapidly rising as one of the top recruits in the class.
Pitt is honing in on its top targets in the class of 2026, with official visits set up with Neiko Mundey and Ethan Mgbako already.
