It was a season to remember for our softball teams. Read about the talented all-stars who made our all-area teams
It was quite the season for softball in the Bucks County area. We had district and league champions and several teams made runs in the state playoffs.
It was all due to the incredibly talented student-athletes who stepped up at the plate time and time again. These are some of the players who hit it out of the park this season.
2025 Softball Player of the Year
Bucks County Courier Times 2025 Softball All-Area First Team
Pitcher:
Brianna Slack, Bristol, junior
The Warriors’ three-year starting pitcher posted an impressive 1.66 ERA, giving up 44 hits and 19 earned runs while striking out 116 in 80 innings. She was also a star at the plate, hitting .469 with 29 RBIs and a team-high 10 doubles and four triples. In the district playoffs, Slack threw two shutouts, and in the Class 2A championship game, she was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, in addition to earning the win in the circle. She was named second-team All-State.
Karlye Teman, Palisades, senior
A four-year starter, Teman shattered the program’s career strikeout record of 814, reaching the mark in the first game of the season, and concluding her career with 1,106 strikeouts. She is just the fifth pitcher in PIAA history to reach 1,000 strikeouts. A first-team All-State selection, she led the Pirates to their first Colonial League title since 2009, giving up two hits and striking out nine in the championship game. For the season, the East Stroudsburg commit recorded a 2.01 ERA, giving up 85 hits In 157 innings and going 21-3 with two complete-game no-hitters. At the plate, she hit .405 with 32 hits, including 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs and 21 RBIs.
Felicia Connolly, North Penn, junior
The junior made her North Penn pitching debut in the season opener, tossing a complete game and giving up seven hits and three earned runs while striking out 15. After missing several games due to injury and working under a pitch count in her return, Connelly finished the regular season with a 2.81 ERA and 140 strikeouts to just 15 walks. At the plate, she led the Knights with a .429 average. In the district playoffs, Connolly, a second-team All-State selection, gave up a total of 17 hits, seven walks and four runs while racking up 50 strikeouts in five games and hit .450 with four RBIs, three doubles and one home run.
Mabel Klossner, New Hope-Solebury
A two-year starter, Klossner continued to build upon her remarkable freshman campaign. Leading the team in both pitching and hitting, she recorded a 1.41 ERA, striking out 96 batters in 146 innings during the regular season. At the plate, Klossner led in every offensive category, hitting .530 with 35 hits, 17 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBIs. In two district playoff games, Klossner hit two doubles and drove in four runs.
Kennedy Conn, Hatboro-Horsham, sophomore
In her first varsity pitching start, Conn gave up just two hits, no walks and struck out 15 in a complete game shutout against Bensalem. Her success continued the rest of the season, finishing with a 2.10 ERA and 153 strikeouts in 109 innings. In the playoffs she allowed four runs and struck out 11 in 13 innings while hitting five doubles and driving in 10 runs.
Catcher:
Josi Tolentino, Souderton, senior
The lone senior on the team, Tolentino had a terrific season in which she hit 10 home runs. Tolentino led the team in hits and RBIs, batting .517 with 30 hits and 32 RBIs. In a win against Upper Perkiomen, she was 4-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBIs.
Leah Schwalm, Quakertown, senior
While the Panthers graduated several key players from last year’s team that played in the district championship game, Schwalm's production at the plate didn’t wane. A first-team All-State selection last year, the Shippensburg University commit batted .525 with 31 hits, 26 RBIs, 10 doubles and two home runs, leading the Panthers in hits, average and RBIs. She surpassed 100 career hits early in the season, finishing her varsity career with 121.
Jazz Manning, Germantown Academy, senior
The senior Swarthmore College commit has a strong arm but she had an even stronger bat this season, hitting .481 with a team-high 25 RBIs, three doubles, three home runs and one triple.
Grace Boyle, Bristol
Boyle impressed behind the plate and at bat, hitting .480 with 20 RBIs, three triples, three doubles and two home runs while scoring 20 runs. In four playoff games, she was 4-for-9 with five runs scored, two stolen bases and a triple.
First Base:
Julia Scannapieco, Council Rock South
The Wilmington University commit led the Golden Hawks in most offensive categories, including average (.486), hits (35) and RBIs (27). She also hit a team-high seven home runs and had several game-tying or game-winning hits. Against Neshaminy, Scannapieco laid down a perfect bunt in the seventh inning to drive in the winning run, and in a district playoff win against Pennsbury, she hit a game-tying RBI-single to force extra innings. In a PIAA playoff win against Easton, she was 1-for-2, drew two walks and drove in two runs. She also contributed in the circle where she had a 2.44 ERA in 28 innings.
Brooklyn Lucas, Palisades, senior
Lucas batted .452 with 33 hits, second on the team in both categories, while driving in 26 runs and scoring 19 runs. The Cedar Crest College commit had 14 extra-base hits, including 10 doubles and three home runs, and recorded her 100th career hit during the season.
Luciana Snyder, Bristol, sophomore
A top defender at first base, Snyder earned first-team All-State honors. She was also a star at the plate, where she hit .510 with eight doubles, one triple and three home runs, driving in a team-high 36 runs.
Second Base:
Hailey Helmstetter, Central Bucks East, sophomore
The Patriots’ top hitter this season, Helmstetter also was stellar at second base. For the season she hit .485 with 28 hits, 30 RBIs, eight doubles and three home runs, all team highs. On defense she had a .900 fielding percentage and turned five double plays, earning first-team All-SOL Colonial honors.
Chelsea Seiler, Council Rock North, junior
Seiler hit .400 on the season, and .519 against league opponents, with 16 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Seiler hit seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and drew 14 walks while striking out just 10 times. She was also a standout on defense, turning five double plays.
Jordyn Bonelli, Palisades, sophomore
Bonelli hit .385 during the regular season and drove in 25 runs. Eleven of her 24 hits went for extra bases, hitting a team-high three triples, along with six doubles and two home runs.
Third Base:
Jenna Pesapane, Council Rock South, freshman
The freshman added an immediate boost to the Golden Hawks’ lineup, batting .403 with 27 hits and 16 runs scored, all of which were second highest on the team, in the regular season. She also contributed 10 RBIs and five doubles, earning first-team All-SOL Patriot and second-team All-State honors.
Natalie Kelley, Gwynedd Mercy, junior
Kelley led the Monarchs in just about every offensive stat. She batted .434 with 23 hits, including four doubles and four home runs, drove in 24 runs and stole eight bases.
Shortstop:
Sierra Klein, Council Rock North, senior
The lone senior on her team, Klein, a three-year captain, led on and off the field. At the plate, she hit .409 with 10 doubles and a team-high 20 RBIs. Playing shortstop for the first time and batting cleanup, Klein hit .484 with runners in scoring position. Against CR South, Klein hit a two-strike, two-RBI triple which helped the Indians secure their first win against their rival since 2021. She led the team with three hits, including a double, and one RBI in their district playoff game against Haverford.
Catie Russo, Palisades, junior
A first-team All-State selection, Russo led the Pirates in nearly every offensive category. She hit .537 with 47 hits, 30 RBIs, 40 runs scored, 16 doubles and seven home runs, all team-highs. Russo recorded her 100th career hit in the postseason, hitting a home run in the Colonial League championship game to help the Pirates to a 2-1 win and their first league title since 2009. In the district playoffs, Russo, a Kutztown commit, went 5-for-6 with a double, two walks and three runs scored in two games.
Sydney Teufel, William Tennent, senior
The Alvernia University recruit led the Panthers with a .455 batting average and 21 RBIs, and 11 of her 27 hits went for extra bases, including five triples and two home runs. The speedy Teufel also scored 20 runs and solidified the Panthers’ infield defense.
Cecilia McBeth, Conwell-Egan, senior
The Philadelphia Catholic League’s Position Player of the Year, and Conwell-Egan’s Scholar Athlete of the Year led the team with 24 RBIs to help the Eagles to the PCL championship game. The Millersville commit hit .380 for the season, and of her 27 hits, 11 were doubles and five were home runs, both team highs. A standout defender, she committed just two errors all season.
Peyton McClain, Bristol, sophomore
A first-team All-State selection, McClain is a standout defender with incredible range and smooth fielding, recording 28 assists this season. Along with her golden glove, McClain has a golden bat, hitting .561 with 33 hits, 33 RBIs, 30 runs scored and nine doubles.
Outfield:
Kayla Ripper, Council Rock North, junior
Her arm strength and speed made her one of the top defensive outfielders in the region, as she recorded six outfield assists this season. She also excelled at the plate, batting a team-high .589 and using her speed to score 30 runs and steal 12 bases, both team-highs. Ripper had 16 RBIs, three doubles and four triples while striking out just six times in 83 plate appearances.
Ella Wheeler, Central Bucks South, senior
A first-team All-State selection and the SOL Colonial Division Player of the Year, Wheeler batted .456 with 36 hits, 32 RBIs, six home runs and 27 runs scored, all of which were team bests. A starter on the Titans’ varsity basketball team as well, Wheeler recorded her 100th career hit this season. She will continue her softball career at Thomas Jefferson University.
Adriana Vargas, Bensalem, senior
Vargas led the Owls in hitting with a .450 average and 20 RBIs. She also scored 17 runs and hit four doubles and four home runs, hitting safely in 15 of 18 games. A first-team All-SOL Patriot selection, Vargas was also a standout defender, recording 28 putouts and three double plays while committing just one error.
Bella Morales, Pennsbury, junior
Morales took a huge leap in her junior season, leading the Falcons with a .507 batting average. She had 36 hits, including three triples, and drove in 22 runs. In a first-round district playoff win, Morales had two hits and three RBIs. She was equally impressive defensively in right field, making several running catches to take away hits from opposing batters.
Jenna Thompson, Pennsbury, junior
After spending the summer playing second base for the Great Britain National Softball Team in the U18 World Cup and U22 Euro Championships, the Falcons utilized Thompson’s arm strength in the outfield, where she made several spectacular throws. The Purdue commit hit .442 with 23 hits and 23 RBIs, including a game-winning grand slam against Methacton. In a playoff game against CR South, Thompson had three hits and an RBI in the 2-1 loss.
Amirah Bell, Bristol, junior
The BAL Independence Division Player of the Year, Bell was named first-team All-State, and a glance at her numbers backs up those honors. Bell was a nearly impossible out at the plate, batting .677 with 44 hits, including three doubles and two triples, and 25 RBIs. A real presence in center field due to her range, arm strength and athleticism, Bell was also a menace on the base paths, where she racked up 22 stolen bases and four runs scored, both team-highs. She recorded her 100th career hit and finished the season with 112 career hits, with a chance to break the school record of 156 hits next year.
Designated Player:
Zahmira Coppola-Miller, Neshaminy, junior
The team’s top hitter this season, Coppola-Miller recorded a .519 batting average and drove in 27 runs on 28 hits. Eleven of those hits went for extra bases, including four home runs and seven doubles. In addition to her impressive numbers, Coppola-Miller’s high softball IQ and natural leadership skills were highly valued by her team.
Dagny Mobley, New-Hope Solebury, sophomore
The Lions’ designated player and occasional pitcher recorded a .468 batting average with seven doubles and drove in 23 runs, second-best on the team in all three categories, while posting a 6-0 record in the circle with a 2.40 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 17 innings.
Utility:
Alex Johnson, Germantown Academy, senior
Johnson was a “do it all” player for the Patriots, playing five different positions during the season, and hitting everywhere in the lineup. A multi-sport athlete and four-year starter, Johnson is a four-time All Inter-Ac selection, earning first-team honors this year. The Dickinson College commit spent the most time at third base and center field and led the Patriots with a .550 batting average and .640 on-base percentage while scoring 20 runs and contributing nine RBIs.
Ana Glemser, Central Bucks West, senior
From pitching to playing in the outfield, Glemser was a key contributor and leader in a Bucks’ lineup with several underclassmen. At the plate, she batted .364 with 24 hits, 19 RBIs and 15 runs scored. She led the Bucks in triples and home runs, hitting four of each. In the circle, she posted a 3.10 ERA and struck out 82 batters in 91 innings.
Aubrey Gahman, Dock Mennonite, senior
The four-year starter and Lebanon College recruit concluded her high school career as one of the Pioneers’ most accomplished all-time players. This season, splitting time between pitching and third base, she led the team with a .500 batting average and 2.28 ERA. She finished with 118 career hits, and surpassed 350 career strikeouts, 100 career RBIs and 100 runs scored. An excellent defender, she had a .923 fielding percentage at third base, drove in 26 runs and had nine extra-base hits. She was named BAL Constitution Division MVP for the third time.
Averi Dockery, Pennridge, senior
The Florida State-bound Dockery led the Rams in nearly every offensive category, hitting .660 with 31 hits, 21 RBIs, eight home runs and 28 runs scored, all team-highs. A first-team All-State selection, Dockery also spent time in the circle, pitching 39 innings where she posted a 0.88 ERA and struck out 80 batters.
Skyler Barnes, Souderton, junior
Barne’s importance to the team can’t be understated. Whether she was pitching or hitting, Barnes was a key to Souderton’s 16-4 season. She hit .446 with 23 RBIs and five home runs, and had multiple games with three hits. In the circle, she was dominant whether she started or closed out a game. She pitched a complete game against Upper Dublin, giving up three hits and one earned run, threw a four-hit shutout in a complete game win against Hatboro-Horsham, and gave up three hits while striking out 10 in a win over Penridge.
Bucks County Courier Times 2025 Softball All-Area Second Team:
Pitcher:
Delaney Stout, Upper Moreland, sophomore
The two-year starter surpassed 400 career strikeouts this season, fanning 259 batters as she led the Golden Bears to the district semifinals and PIAA playoff berth. Stout recorded a 2.13 ERA and had 10 games where she didn’t allow an earned run. She also helped her cause at the plate, driving in 20 runs and hitting eight doubles.
Mia Kiskurno, CR North, freshman
Her first high school pitching start came against last year’s defending state champion, North Penn, when Kiskurno threw a six-hit, two-walk complete game to earn the 7-1 win. Her impressive campaign concluded with a 3.13 ERA, tallying 67 strikeouts with just 18 walks. At the plate, she posted a .510 batting average with 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored, earning first-team All-SOL Patriot honors.
Catcher:
Victoria Colagreco, William Tennent
The Penn State Abington commit hit .404 and led the Panthers in slugging, at .851, and OPS, at 1.390, and drove in 17 RBIs. She hit two grand slams this season.
Zoe Hardy, Council Rock North, junior
The ultimate team player and a top-notch defender, Hardy threw out 28 percent of base runners attempting to steal and boasted a .962 fielding percentage. At the plate, she hit .311 with five doubles and scored 10 runs, and also played some third base. Hardy was also a key to freshman pitcher and first-team All-SOL Patriot selection Mia Kiskurno’s development.
Sophia Salamon, Council Rock South, sophomore
Taking over behind the plate for Grace Stepp, a Division 1 recruit, Salamon stepped into her new role seamlessly, catching All-State pitcher Lexi Waring and batting .317 with 19 RBIs during the regular season. In the first round of the PIAA Class 6A playoffs, she had one of the Golden Hawks’ three hits and drew a walk in the 4-1 win.
Riley Gahman, Dock Mennonite, sophomore
She hit .382 with 24 RBIs as a key piece of the Pioneers’ district championship team, catching for older sister Aubrey Gahman and the team’s other pitchers. In the district semifinal, Gahman was 3-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored in the win, and in the first round of the PIAA 1A playoffs, she was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Infield:
Tallie Smink, North Penn, junior
A standout on the basketball court and softball field, Smink batted .361 with 22 hits and 10 RBIs during the regular season. She led the Knights’ offense in the playoffs, going 9-for-20 with five RBIs, three walks, three runs scored and a double. She was named second-team All-SOL Colonial and first-team All-State.
Morgan Leonhauser, Neshaminy, senior
The senior drove in 14 runs and had nine extra base hits, including six doubles and three home runs.
Lilyana Gonzalez, Bristol, junior
Gonzalez hit .367 and drove in 14 runs while scoring 19 times. She had three doubles and one home run.
Avery Kutzner, Dock Mennonite, freshman
Kutzner added a punch to the bottom of the lineup, hitting .392 with 21 RBIs and 24 runs scored while hitting ninth. She had three doubles and two triples, and was especially impressive in the playoffs, batting .625 with three RBIs and four runs scored in four games.
Taylor Hooven, CB West, junior
Hooven hit .444 with a team-high 28 hits, and drove in 19 runs while scoring 13 runs.
Maya Ravi, Hatboro-Horsham, sophomore
The sophomore hit a team-high .410 and led the Hatters with 16 runs scored, as well as driving in 13 runs and earning first-team All-SOL Liberty honors. Her defense was also top-notch — in a first-round district playoff win, she expertly fielded a hard-hit ball to make the final out with the tying run on third base.
Liv Czerniak, Pennsbury, junior
The speedy shortstop led the Falcons with 22 runs scored and five doubles. The West Chester commit hit .391 and didn’t have a strikeout all season.
Zoey Clark, Germantown Academy, junior
One of the top defenders in the Inter-Ac, Clark was an excellent table-setter for the Patriots, hitting .512 and scoring 21 runs from the leadoff spot.
Marley Swain, CB West, junior
Swain led the Bucks with a .480 batting average and scored 15 runs.
Amariah McKnight, Conwell-Egan, senior
A first-team All-Catholic selection and Thomas Jefferson recruit, McKnight batted .306 with 22 hits, 15 RBIs, four doubles and two home runs.
Maddie Motley, CB South, sophomore
Motley’s impressive sophomore campaign included a .418 batting average and 26 RBIs, second most on the team. She also hit seven doubles and scored 18 runs while providing strong defense at first base.
Outfield:
Joslyn McCellan, Upper Moreland, senior
The Golden Bears’ leading hitter this season, McCellan batted .333 with 26 hits, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. She also hit six doubles and one triple and had nine stolen bases.
Rhiley Poniktera, Palisades, senior
Poniktera hit .383 with 31 hits, including seven doubles and two triples, and contributed 27 RBIs and 26 runs scored, and led the team with 21 stolen bases.
Gina Oliverio, Bensalem, sophomore
She had a breakout season, leading the Owls in several offensive categories including hits (24), runs scored (18) and triples (4). A do-it-all player for the Owls, Oliverio batted leadoff, had seven multi-hit games while striking out just six times, and was a top defender, making four diving catches in the outfield with 19 putouts.
Kendal Nelson, Souderton, freshman
Her rookie campaign couldn’t have been much better, as Nelson quickly became one of Souderton’s top offensive threats, batting a robust .500, second highest on the team, with seven home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. She was named first-team All-SOL and second-team All-State.
Morgan Kocher, William Tennent, senior
The Kutztown commit made her mark in center field and on the base paths, hitting .424 with a team-high 23 runs scored from the leadoff spot. Kocher recorded her 100th career hit during the season.
Veronica Houk, Council Rock South, senior
A first-year starter this season, Houk hit .434 with 23 hits, 19 RBIs and 18 runs scored in the regular season. She had the second-highest batting average on the team, and was second in extra-base hits with five doubles, two home runs and one triple. Houk was named second-team All-State, but she’ll be trading in her cleats for skates in the fall to play ice hockey for Utica University.
Designated Player:
Dana Oliverio, Bensalem, sophomore
The versatile sophomore saw time in the outfield, as designated player, and in the circle, where she struck out 42 batters in 60 innings while giving up 29 walks. At the plate, she hit .353 with nine RBIs, 10 walks, three doubles and 15 runs scored, and had a .929 fielding percentage in the outfield.
Utility:
Dana Delamater, Dock Mennonite, senior
Delamater’s versatility was utilized by the Pioneers, as she played third base, first base, in the outfield, and in the circle. She hit .424 and a fielding percentage of .936.
Olivia Schlindwein, CR North, junior
After starting the season as one of the Indians’ primary pitchers, Schlindwein took over in left field due to a teammate’s injury. An excellent fielder who committed just one error and turned one double play, Schlindwein hit .413 with 15 RBIs, 18 runs scored and nine stolen bases. In the circle, she went 4-0 with a 1.75 ERA.
