Without a functional passing game for much of the season, the Wolverines' run blocking especially stood out during what was a heroic series of late season performances, carrying momentum into the 2025-26 season.
On Saturday, Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey was among those who spoke, setting an ambitious goal for the 2025-26 offensive line unit.
Lindsey didn't mince words as he revealed his ambitious goal for the unit.
"#Michigan OC Chip Lindsey says they want ten playable OL for this season," reporter Brice Marich wrote on X. "They are looking to play the best five," he added.
The last part of Lindsey's quote stands out amid practice reports of freshmen linemen Andrew Babalola and Ty Haywood excelling this offseason. Both players could start at their respective tackle and guard positions with competition expected to be fierce going into the season.
Michigan coach Sherrone Moore singled out El-Hadi, a projected starter at guard, as the team's best offensive lineman during spring ball, but the Wolverines boast several talented players and plenty of depth which could lead to potential breakout players like tackle Blake Frazier and/or guard Nathan Efobi emerging this fall.
Transfer tackle Brady Norton and transfer guard Lawrence Hattar also are expected to push for playing time in what should be a position to watch leading up to Michigan's August 30 home opener against New Mexico.
