Urban Meyer had no question about who it was.

The Texas Longhorns are trying to reach the College Football Playoff for the third time in as many seasons.

However, if they want to do so, it will have to be with a new quarterback under center.

Quinn Ewers was the starter for the last two seasons and is now in the NFL. Ewers suffered an oblique injury against the Michigan Wolverines in Week 2 of last season and exited the UTSA game, allowing Arch Manning to see the field.

Manning started the next two games and led the Longhorns to wins in both.

Now, the Texas star is starting, and Urban Meyer emphasized the amount of pressure he must face on a recent episode of "The Triple Option."

He believed Manning would be under the most pressure of any quarterback in recent history.

"I think in recent history, Arch Manning is going to have the most pressure," Meyer said. "I was trying to go back, and Chris Leak had enormous pressure because he was the No. 1 player in America coming out of high school. You had Tim Tebow, you had Cam Newton. You had these quarterbacks that had so much pressure, and it impacts them."

Meyer coached the likes of Tim Tebow, Cam Newton and Chris Leak with the Florida Gators from 2005-2010. Tebow won the Heisman at Florida in 2007, while Newton won the 2010 Heisman with the Auburn Tigers.

There will be many eyes on Manning this season simply because of the name on the back of his jersey. ESPN's Matt Barrie weighed in on the pressure the quarterback will face, calling it unfair because of the lack of games he has played.

On3's Pete Nakos added Manning to a quarterback pressure list for the 2025 season, with the Texas gunslinger coming in at No. 8.

The pressure is on for Texas as it faces the Ohio State Buckeyes in its season opener on August 30. Kickoff is at Noon ET on Fox.
