Rutgers Football adds Oren Wilson Jr., a New Jersey native as the program's new Director of College Personnel.
Rutgers Football is adding another New Jersey native to their coaching staff, as Oren Wilson Jr. is joining the Scarlet Knights to become the program’s new Director of College Personnel.
The Teaneck, New Jersey native spent the past year and a half working as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel for the Pittsburgh Football program, where he helped out with recruiting and on campus visits.

Wilson announced his new job on social media and wrote the following…
“Couldn’t have asked for a better year at Pitt. Amazing people, amazing place. Grateful for the opportunity to see my former coach from a new perspective and to be surrounded by great coaches and players. Wishing everyone the best! With that said, I’ve accepted the role of Director of College Personnel @RUfootball . Look forward to my next journey! Happy to be home and closer to my family. As mentioned above, Wilson is a Teaneck, New Jersey native and played four years at Teaneck High School, where he was ranked the No. 32 overall recruit in the 2005 class before doing a prep year at the Harmony Community School in Ohio.
After his prep year, he originally committed to Cincinnati under HC Mark Dantonio, but when he left for Michigan State, Wilson also flipped his commitment to the Spartans. He would go on to spend the next three years at MSU, starting 26 of 38 games at nose tackle. He went on to transfer to Akron in 2010, sat out a year and had 38 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks in 2011.
Wilson went on to spend the 2012 training camp with the New York Giants, before transitioning to coaching.
Rutgers Football offseason staff changes
- DC / LBs coach Joe Harasymiak left to be the Head Coach of UMass. He was replaced by Robb Smith and Zach Sparber, both of whom are now Co-Defensive Coordinators.
- Cornerbacks coach Mark Orphey left for the same role at Texas, he was replaced by David Rowe who joined the program as a defensive analyst in 2024.
- Safeties coach Drew Lascari left for an Asst. DBs coach job with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was replaced by Penn State defensive analyst Vic Hall.
- Spencer Brown joined the program as an Asst. S&C coach in spring via Dartmouth, only to take over for Jay Butler as the full time Director of Sports Performancein the summer.
- John McNulty rejoins the staff as an offensive analyst (Asst. WRs coach), after two seasons in a similar role with Alabama.
- Director of Recruiting Ramon Ruiz leaves Rutgers to join the Baltimore Ravens as a Player Personnel Assistant. He was replaced by Michael Cardinali, who originally joined the program as a Player Development Assistant in June 2024.
- Eric Josephs goes from Director of Player Personnel to Assistant GM for Personnel.
- Jordan Wolkstein goes from Director of Communications and Branding to Assistant GM for Finance.
