Davis's Los Angeles home is on the market.
Mavericks' Anthony Davis lists mansion for $39.9 million originally appeared on The Sporting News
Perhaps the final nail has been put in the Anthony Davis-Los Angeles Lakers coffin.
The Dallas Mavericks’ star forward has listed his Bel Air Crest mansion for $39.9 million, according to TMZ Sports. The estate features eight bedrooms.
Davis, 32, was exchanged for Luka Dončić in one of the great surprise blockbusters not only in NBA history, but in all of sports.
The power forward/center is well on his way to a Hall of Fame induction, and while injuries have hindered his career, he should enjoy success in this new stage.
Davis only played in 9 games for the Mavericks after the trade, dealing with a left adductor strain and a detached retina. Still, he averaged 20 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.2 blocks and remains one of the most ferocious defensive bigs in basketball.
Now, he will try to guide this Dallas squad, along with Kyrie Irving — who is on the shelf after tearing his ACL until next January or February — and No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.
While the mansion sale further ends Davis’s relationship with Los Angeles, it should be remembered as a successful marriage.
After the Lakers acquired him in 2019 from the New Orleans Pelicans for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round draft picks, he racked up multiple top-four Defensive Player of the Year finishes, three All-Star nods, two All-NBA selections, and two All-Defensive first teams.
Davis is set to make $54.1 million this season, $58.5 million next year, and has a player option at $62.8 million for 2027-28. Hopefully for Dallas fans, they do not see any mansions up for sale in the near future.
