With Joao Felix gone, Chelsea are moving down their list of players to sell.

There seems to be precious little interest in the likes of Axel Disasi, Raheem Sterling or Ben Chilwell, which is starting to become concerning.

But one player is at least finally looking like he might get a move after a long period of silence. Carney Chukwuemeka had a promising second half of the season on loan with Dortmund, but couldn’t leverage that into serious interest for a permanent move this summer.

However the German club always spoke positively about their intentions to bring him in, and now it sounds like Chelsea’s demands over a fee have dropped far enough that negotiations can begin.

Dortmund return to the table for Chukwuemeka

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this morning that talks were underway over the 21 year old.

It still seems like a deal is far off, but the fact that they’ve resumed even with the Germans knowing our terms is very promising – clearly both sides think a deal is achievable.

Jacobs says German side “confident” of bringing in Chukwuemeka

Ben Jacobs’ Tweet about Dortmund’s interest in Carney Chukwuemeka.

As ever, fellow transfer insider Ben Jacobs is keen to not get left behind, and he’s followed up with some more information of his own, saying that Dortmund are “confident” of bringing Chukwuemeka back, and referring back to his talk with the German club’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl at the Club World Cup where it was made clear there was still serious interest at the right price.

Jacobs also notes the interest from RB Leipzig, while making it very clear that that interest wasn’t at the same level of intensity as Dortmund’s. Finally, with a couple of sides seeming to get into gear, our chances of selling the former Aston Villa player look to be improving.
