The 19-year-old Dutchman arrives at Stamford Bridge on a seven-year deal following a weekend medical in London, becoming the club’s eighth addition in a transfer window of significant investment.

Hato is not just a talent, he is a teenage leader forged in the furnace of expectation. Squad Depth and Left-Sided Balance

Chelsea’s centre-back stockpile is extensive, yet Hato’s arrival still makes sense within Enzo Maresca’s reshaped system. The Blues currently list seven centre-halves in their senior squad, but only Levi Colwill and Benoît Badiashile are naturally left-footed.
