Cody Rhodes Wins Back WWE Championship At SummerSlam

Cody Rhodes is once again at the top of WWE’s mountain.

In the main event of tonight’s WWE SummerSlam, Rhodes defeated John Cena in a brutal Street Fight to reclaim the Undisputed WWE Championship. The match itself was a back-and-forth that featured tons of incredible spots, but ended in a flurry of finishers and kick outs.

Toward the end of the match, Rhodes seemed to lock in a win after hitting three straight Cross Rhodes on Cena. “Super Cena” returned for a moment, though, somehow kicking out of the moves. Cena then returned the favor, hitting three straight AA’s on Rhodes, but Rhodes was the one who kicked out this time.

In the end, Rhodes was able to grab the win after hitting another Cross Rhodes. After losing his title to a heel Cena and seemingly turning him face last week, Rhodes was yet again WWE Champion. After the match, Rhodes and Cena had a moment in the ring, with Cena congratulating the new champion before coming face-to-face with the shocking return of Brock Lesnar.
